Quick Decorating Tip

Just a reminder ladies:

When decorating your house for Thanksgiving, think simple and elegant.

"Understated" and "subtle" will convey an aura of sophistication that so perfectly compliments this treasured holiday.

Watch out.
I know of a Pilgrim that has a big ol' shotgun strapped to his chest. He'll throw some toast in GuardPoodle's bowl to distract him and then take that turkey out no problem.

LOL! We bought our first "inflatable" this Halloween. We had sworn that we never would but they are just so cute... However, I think an 8 foot tall turkey would scare the crap out of the kids. Especially a gun totin turkey!

Oooh, classy!

Thanks for the tip. I was afraid my crepe paper pilgrims were a bit too much. Now I can see I haven't gone far enough.

That's a black tie affair all the way. All. The. Way. Baby.

Inflatable turkey poolside, inflatable turkey on the beach, inflatable turkey window shopping...I can see another popular series here!

As long as it deflates and stores flat, I'm in!!

Thanks, Martha, I'll try and remember that when I'm shopping for my decorations at Home Depot...

Most of us put that kind of stuff out on the front lawn...but to each their own!

Once again I am in awe of the mad Thanksgiving decorating skills being shown on the blogosphere. First it was McMommy's musket wielding pilgrim, now it's HappyHour Sue's light/blow-up turkey. I bow to the greatness.

Um you have a tom in your living room! I always seem to be late on the inflatable purchases.

That's the biggest turkey I've ever seen!!! (That's what she said...giggle, giggle)

Is that flat Joe in a turkey costume??? I'm typing with about two cocktails in my system....I know, I'm a weenie. Everything looks life-size right now...

LOve it!! Are you feeling any better???

Okay, I can't decide if that turkey is a relative of Homer Simpson, or if he is just the most demented, don't-eat-me-or-you'll-get-salmonella-poisoning looking turkey ever. But, I must say, very classy and understated.

:-)

Lovin' it! Reminds me of our Halloween inflatable my folks bought us and it's a witch humping ( I mean, sitting on) a pumpkin. At least that's what it looks like to me. And my neighbors.

At least the turkey is standing alone. Safer that way.

Aracely said...

So fancy! My grocery store has one of those standing next to a crate of pumpkins, Tre chic!

Is that Bill? Shut up!!!

I think they have the same bird in Emily Post's home ;)

LMAO And people call ME redneck? At least mine is in the front yard. haha

Tenakim said...

That's where I would have to put mine since my outdoor electricity crosses over a sidewalk- and that would just be classless with cords everywhere!

Jen said...

really that won't look good in my house. I had one all ready to go.

I was seriously hoping you got that out of our neighbors yard. And you could take the other two huge pumpkins and turkey while you are at it. mkaythnksbye

Ah yes pure sophistication ..lol. It's great!!

I like it, but it would look better with Mr. Jonas standing with him.

my kids would have that thing deflated in minutes

I think I'd just add a simple string of pearls around his neck..for that homey June Cleaver look. Though I guess a Cleaver might make him nervous...HA!

Left you a present on my last post...

Somewhere...Martha Stewart's eye is twitching. And she doesn't know why.

Oh Thank God, the Turkey Diaries has come to a pleasant ending.
All dressed for Dinner and at the table not on it.

Concerned also about the Crystal Meth thing...my 15 year old confirmed the cold medicine thing.

Happy Thanksgiving
