Milk
Bread
Duraflames
Wine :)
Hershey syrup for hot chocolate!!! :)

Wednesday, February 10th

No school!!!! Got to sleep in, kids excited. it's really coming down. They say we're getting ANOTHER 2 feet - crazy! Do I have enough wine and rum? I think I do. These munchkins drink a lot of hot chocolate! So cute. :)

Thursday February 11th

School closed again.....whaddaya know. Is it that bad really? City of Philadelphia closed: freakin weenies. Oh shocker: here come the kids inside for more hot chocolate and tracking snow everywhere...where's the snowplow guy? So it's still coming down - Couldya grow a pair and get out here? Where's my cocktail.

Friday, February 12th

For the LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY school is closed again. I bet you don't have kids, MR. GUY-WHO-MAKES-THE-SCHOOL-CLOSING-DECISIONS. Do you. I bet you also don't have a HUSBAND WHO TAKES YOUR 4-WHEEL DRIVE SUV TO WORK AND LEAVES YOU WITH THE UN-DRIVEABLE CAR. Which means no car. 3 kids - 4 feet of snow - no escape. Just "Mom! .....Mom!...... Mom! She hit me! Mom! Can I have 50,000 friends over? Mom! Can you make me hot chocolate? Mom! Can you take me sledding? Mom! Why are you putting rum in your orange juice?"

Mom can put a whole fifth of rum in her orange juice. She's not going ANYWHERE.

Same here in Kentucky. We are on our 11th day off. I've considered shipping my kids to Florida to my parents. Sweet little heathens are getting on my nerves and they keep waking me up when I pass out. Trolls.

LOL! Sorry but that was so classic and great. We, in Wisconsin, got off so easy THIS Winter but trust me I have said those exact same things in past winters. Hang in there!

Sweetie, if they are all still ALIVE, you have done your job and deserve a MEDAL for FREAKING MOM OF THE YEAR!

This post is SOOOOO me!
I am on day 9 of no freaking school.
Its like some horrid punishment from God gone bad.

I am praying to all that is sacred and holy that tomorrow the kids can go to school.

At least you could liquor up. Some of us had to suffer through it sober *gasp*.

You poor thing! I'll be wishing summer comes soon for you.

wow, that is a LOT of snow. I was excited by our few inches in Korea as I am from Texas and don't get to ever experience snow. Sounds fun the first few days...

I can see where you'd need to stock up on liquor and wine in your situation. Might I suggest mixing Pepsi and red Wine..Its call a Calimocho or some such b.s. but the effects are crazy fast with the mixture of red wine and carbonated soda! gotta love it!

Here in Dallas when we got a whopping 11.5" of snow the city pretty much shut down so everyone could enjoy it before the temperatures are in the 60s again and we're all cranking our A/Cs back on.

I'm wishing you better snow plow guys and more of "Mom..can I go to [insert random neighbor's kid's name here] house for a couple hours? " in lieu of them coming to your pad.

Sounds like the last 12 days here in Baltimore expect somehow I managed not to drink. I don't know how! My kids school was cancelled today again even though last night we only got flurries. The rest of the week is 2 hour delay for them. I am just thankful they are going back.

I. Feel. Your. Pain. On our 6th snow delay -- we've had a few delays and my kids haven't had a full week of school since November maybe?
I'll be in the corner in a fetal position, sucking on my rum bottle.

We were out for 3 days here (IN) and I honestly believe it was a game of which parent was going to crack first.

I called the Transportation dude - assured him it was me, threatened to send my kid back to school with red dye for a snack and that ass canceled school again.

That was when I decided working from home wasn't going to work out for me anymore.

I meant sixth snow day - plus weekends - makes it...hmmm...I don't want to do the math

That's pretty much how it went at the Nest too! Only Son got to help the snow plow guy dig us out. He is back to school and struggling to get back in the swing of things.

I homeschooled. So no pity from me.

PS- Vodka in the OJ is totally less detectable. =]

So, I've been a lurker for a little bit....I found your blog through MommyPie's, and I have to say.... I love you.

Totally no weird lesbian connotations, but I think you're hilarious and I love reading. Just thought you should know :)

Sounds dreadful...well except for the chocolate and the wine.

Oh boy. I sure know that feeling. We rarely get snow days here, thank god. In Canada, two feet of snow just means start walking/driving five minutes earlier.

A week and a half later and we're still dealing with freaking half-days here. Can't the snow stay where it belongs?!

Haha. Poor mum. I thought being snowed in with a dog in heat (the dog, not me) was bad.

I've never been snowed in, but we did just recently go to Big Bear Lake and saw lots of it. Snow isn't that soft fluffy stuff - you sink into it, your cloths get wet and you can hurt your tailbone if you fall!! (And snow turns dirty - who knew?)

So, I have a healthy new respect for those of you trapped by it. I don't have kids, but reading your blog gave me a dose of cabin fever!

You are SOOOO wishing for Tom to fly you out to see me now, aren't you??!! We could go to the club, lay out by the pool in this 86 degree weather, get massages, mani-pedis, "beverages", AND they just started offering sitters for the kids! I don't envy that weather you're in, but miss you too much! BlogHer is too far away!
