Can I just say - YOU ARE SO FUNNY!

Beautiful!! And, you don't have to worry about someone stealing them.

No dirt on your pretty nails. Bonus!

I love to think how happy you were the day you bought those, so full of excitement to get them in the ground. I think what you need to do is offer them up as a prize. First person who guesses closest to how long you've kept them in your garage wins. Or, you can just give them to me.

(I second Jill's comment).

your daffodils will never die. they will always be just as beautiful as the day you bought them. and that's hard to do!

i really should buy some of those. they would look fabulous in my yard!

lISTEN THE FACT THAT YOU KNOW WHAT THOSE FLOWERS EVEN ARE,IS COOL. dAMN THE CAPS LOCK. Get one of your kids to tend to them. Don't they have to be grounded soon.

My thumb is not only NOT green, I think it has been amputated.

That is what happened to my Mother's Day rose bush presents two years ago. They finally died and had to throw them away. Oops!

Your daffodils remind me of the broken clock that's right twice a day. They'll always look as good as they do right now.

Your gardening skills are VERY similar to mine. Always with the best of intentions...

I'm about to go to Lowe's and buy a metric ass load of flowers that will surely die within 3 months tops.

I can plant them and arrange them in a way that they look nice. Apparently you have to water them as well. That's where I lose interest.

At least your flowers require no water in their box.

Mary@Holy Mackerel said...

I think they look lovely. A great conversation piece.

Awwww.yours are soo cute! In that little box waiting to be loved and cared for...just like mine ;)

Too funny!!! FOR REALZ!

Erin said...

lol, but yours are such a vibrant yellow...now THAT's something to brag about to your neighbors! (and you can just fail to mention that they're still in the box!?!)

Angela said...

wow, how beautiful!

those must be those fancy daffodils that morph into boxes once they bloom. I'm glad you keep them in your garage as to not make the neighbors jealous. how polite of you ;)

Getting an early start on the 2010 garden, huh?

LOL...I can honestly say, "Been there, done that!"

And they say flowers always die...I say not. LOL!

OMG!! I have those exact same daffodils!

Thank goodness they are boxes.....thought I was going to see a freshly populated vase with pruning sheers beside it! LOL

Too funny! Looks like you and I have the same ideas when it comes to gardening! Thank goodness my husband is a landscaper!

You're my kind of gardener!

My flowers are metal. They bloom year round. Got em at Hobby Lobby.

I get it.

When you moved the bulbs to put away the biking helmets and get the skiing helmets you forgot about planting the bulbs. Now you found them when you looked for the biking helmets again and noticed that the beds were bare.

There is always next year.

Jen said...

hey that is exactly where mine are.

Jen Shults said...

Hahaha! Yep, mine are there too and I plan on keeping them there permanently. Daffodils are highly overrated.

You and my mom would get along great! The best part of it is I can literally picture you playing neighborhood yard paparazzi. How'd you do it? Did you go around pretending to be a part of the Garden Club or were you all clandestinely pulling up in front of the yard with sunglasses on snapping pictures? Or did you just get the kids to do it?

BacktoBarnwell said...

You: "Happy Mommy needs you to go take some pictures of the the neighbors' flowers."

Kids: "Um for what?"

You: "To send to God."

Kids: "huh??"

You: "Kids, make Jesus happy. Get to snapping."

When I read this I nodded knowingly. At least we're on the same page.

Haha, brilliant!!

Lindy said...

That's hilarious!

At least you have the daffodils are actual daffodils, mine would have been a picture of a dandilion (however you spell it) :)

Sarah said...

NICE. we are too alike.

Ali said...

Every fall I say that I'm going to plant daffodils and then every spring I kick myself for not doing it! I just steal a bunch from my grandma's yard for a bouquet!

suburbanmom said...

LOL! That was me one year and the bulbs rotted! I didn't think that could happen, but it did... I did plant some tulips, but they bloomed only once and keep getting eatten by critters! ;(

I feel that you MUST know, you and your Robert Pattinson loving self have succeeded in winning me over to the dark side, (of Twilight-obsessed mom's like yourself). After months of wondering about it (and seeing your sidebar) I gave in and read the 1st two books. btw, I am in love now. ;) In MAD LOVE, I say!

Jenny said...

At least you bought the seeds. You're one step a head of me. I can totally relate. Ha!

Sue Wilkey said...

Jenny: "bulbs", not "seeds". You can join my gardening club.

Cathie said...

I still have flowers seeds in those little packets things in the junk drawer! They look beautiful on the package, not sure about them once they get out of the package and in the ground.

We garden exactly the same. I have the 23 bags of soil, too.

MammaDawg said...

LMAO - our daffodils look the same!

Kathy said...

Sue, congrats for breaking the thousand subscriber barrier. You are my idol.

Leslie said...

Oh you so rock with your daffodils. You see, I'm with you on this one. I kill stuff. And I honestly have tried to be a green thumb kind of gal. I've.killed.everything.Honest. It's isn't pretty. So, I love yours!

Tami Wyatt said...

You STILL have more daffodils than me!

Jarrard said...

I spit water on my desk when I read this. I love the fact that you post about my life so I don't have to make the effort. This is absolutely priceless and absolutely my world.

You are just protecting them from global warming keeping them inside. It is for their own good.
