This Is No Way To Run a Blog

So last night was The Oscars, and my friend Jen from The Daily Mish Mash was hosting a Twitter party. (go there to see more party details from last night).

Everybody watches the show together, while on Twitter, and talk about people's outfits, what a douche Ryan Seacrest is, etc. etc.

Only I don't own a LAPTOP, so in order to watch TV and be online simultaneously, I have to lug my ginormous desktop Dharma Initiative computer out of my office, across the house, and into the family room.

Even the dogs are embarrassed.

I guarantee you Dooce does not have her Christmas lights extension cord sprawled about her living room. 1994 called. they want their technology back.

I suppose I could have borrowed my husband's laptop, but then if he went through history, he could see I was typing things like

"Where is Robert Pattinson"

"Why isn't there a RobCam"

"There he is jfkdkjg;ldfg;'gh;l'j';k"

And I'm not alone, BTW.

After he presented, my 8-year-old daughter got right up and wrote a fan letter (as 8 year olds are wont to do) proclaiming: "I would jump off a cliff for you."

I'm with ya, sister.

  1. I just got home from running a mile and a half and laughing so hard- I sound like I have emphysema!!! Good thing your dog's faces are black- they definitely would have wanted that black bar over their faces to conceal their identity! We need to come up with a pimping plan to Dell. I will say this- at least you have a MAC- I have a Dell Desktop- I feel like Matthew Broderick in War Games!!!

  10. Oh oh, did you see? Not only when he was presenting, but when Ben Kingsley was talking about Mickey Rourke during the presentation of Best Actor, Rob was RIGHT BEHIND Mickey Rourke. In fact, I couldn't even tell you what Mickey looked like, because Rob was sitting there in the frame, right behind him! His HAIR is back!

  11. LOL!!! oh i cannot even tell you how much i love this picture, and i LOVE even more that you did this, GO SUE GO! Laptop? Whats that?!

  12. LOL! Thank you for taking a picture! The picture in my head was pretty close, last night, but I didn't get the pile of extension cord right. ;)

Also, I propose printing out a pic of Rob from last night to use on Flat Edward. Because he was H.O.T.

  15. That picture is priceless!! Thanks for the linkage and for all the funny tweets last night. It was fun drooling over Rob with you.

I concur with your daughter. He is definitely cliff jump worthy. She is very wise for 8 years old.

  16. I have never thought about that. I don't have a laptop either, next time I am totally going to just do the sue. ;)

  17. My calves are still burning from bolting back and forth from the living room to the computer to keep up and twitter...and I was always behind and someone had said something wittier.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love your living room. Even with the big ol' computer on the coffee table! LOL!

Way to keep up with the Oscars!

  19. I always watch the Oscars. ALWAYS. And I totally forgot about them last night and watched two hours of DVR'd "True Blood" instead.

    Dang it.

  20. I want to jump off a cliff now knowing I missed Pattison on the Oscars! ARrrggghhhhh! Drooling, Lisa

  21. New term for: "Do The Sue"
Refers to the extreme circumstances we will go to to partake in any Edward Stalking and twittering at the same time.

You now have an obsession-induced computer past time named after you. I hope you are appropriately honored.

BTW: Even Dooce doesn't have that.

  22. Woo-Hoo! Nice to have a buddy out here on the tech frontier!

Oops - gotta go before someone tries to call me on my dialup connection and I get knocked offline.

    Hugs!

  24. Hilarious, again!

I posted today about how worried I was when Rob presented...I feared that Hugh Jackman might go all Van Helsing on him during the awards! (giggle giggle)

Dooce has nothing on you, sistah!

  25. I did the same thing last night, I was watching the oscars and chatting in yahoo. Too bad I didn't know about the twitter party, that might have been more fun. :)

  26. Yes, but you had wine. Wine. Don't underestimate it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'd have been right there with you, Christmas light extension cord, Dharma computer... You definitely have better furniture though ~ and more room... way more room.

    ReplyDelete
  28. LoL, I think the Christmas lights were a pretty inventive idea. What ever works because I sure had a blast Tweeting with ya last night.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have to say...that's pretty inventive!
I have never noticed Rob before last night but all I gots to say is, "Hot Damn!"
Is it wrong to be crushin' on your daughter's crush???

  30. HaHa... That is funny. Maybe next time it would be easier to lug the TV to the office?!?

    ReplyDelete
  31. At least you still didn't have your giant jambox on your shoulder. Good move.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL about 1994!

I would totally jump off a cliff for him too...especially if I could get to be a Cullen. ;)

  33. That pic needs to make the Blogging Hall of Fame for Best Pic Ever.

    The Dharma logo???

I'm falling off my seat from laughing so hard!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. HA HA HA!! You look perfectly at home behind that behemoth computer. Classic. And yes blogging Hall of Fame worthy.

Weird thing? I am sick here sitting on the couch and I was just watching one of those crap entertainment shows I never watch like Extra or Access or ET or whatever and they showed a clip of your man, uh, Robert Pattison, being interviewed on the red carpet and they said "Where's your date?" And he said "I don't have one - I couldn't find anybody to go with."

And it was at that point that I was like - "What about Happy Hour Sue??? She would have TOTALLY gone with you dude!!"

See? You're in my brain now. Your wacked obsession with vampire boy is in my brain.

    :-)

  39. Haha, I love your pictures with the hand written captions. I can't believe you hauled the iMac in there. Nice work. That Twitter party was craziness.

You and your daughter going all Thelma and Louise for Rob... I can totally see it. :D

  40. I have 1994 technology too. My husband is getting frustrated that I hijack his laptop all of the time. Nut he really only uses it anymore to play risk anyway...hello! I have important crap to do, like comment on Sue's blog! I NEED this laptop!

I didn't dig the Oscars much this year...

    ReplyDelete
  41. you know how I got my laptop? My husband noticed that things were happening in the house. The flat screen getting scratched, chocolate all over the cream-colored carpet, and a larger and larger pile of dirty glasses and plated in the office,. So when I asked for a laptop for Christmas he looked uncertain for a moment, then I said "that way I can work on the computer and be with the girls at the same time". Eureka. Presto, pronto, I got my laptop :-)
