WTF

Seriously. Has the whole world gone crazy?

Check out this Barbie commercial I saw this morning:

I just don't know what to say.

Kudos, I guess, for rhyming "number 1 or number 2" with "puppy pee...puppy poo"...

Annnnnd.....do we all remember Barbie's dog "Tanner" from a few years back?

Yeah. "Tanner".

"Tanner" "ate" his "food" (brown Tic Tac-esque pellets), then you pressed his tail and he pooped them out.

All well and good, except that the "poop" doubled as the "food" and well- I just don't think it's a good message to send to the kids.

So I guess my point, Mattel, is:
More with the fashion, less with the crapping.

  8. Omg, how ridiculous! I had no idea Barbie had fallen so far off her pedestal these days. She's like those washed-up, used-to-be-the-hot-shizz actors and supermodels that are now stuck doing toothpaste and Depends commercials...

  9. I am afraid to see what they will think of next ... Tampon Barbie, maybe? Eww! Although, if that is next, you heard it from me first - I should definitely get some sort of kudos money from Mattel!
Come check out my very first vlog, but please no laughing! LOL!

  11. What's next? Flight Attendant Barbie ... she passes out barf bags to passengers, and cleans up after the ones who "miss" the bag! woo hoo! Fun kids!

  13. I think that my favorite part of the commercial is where the kid makes the dog do a nice hump-y motion before the dog squirts stuff all over the place. Now, if THAT'S not teaching them some kind of valuable life lesson, then I don't know what will.

  14. The disturbing thing is that these toys most likely went through several rounds of focus groups with consumers. Who are these people saying "Yes! I'd buy that for my kid!"
    Scary world.

  17. I haven't seen it (until now) but it was the last thing to complete Barbie's marketable acts. Incredible. How will they top that? Well, I guess I can think of a few things. oh, and maybe more than a few.

  18. Huh.

And to think everyone was all up in arms a few years ago about the "Math is hard" Barbie. We've come a long way. Or not.

  19. Oh, Lord, girl - you really do crack me up! Usually I'm trying not to laugh hard when I'm reading - hubby is sleeping or talking to his boss on the phone! Anyways, thanks for the belly laughs!

  20. Pee pads, seriously?

If you're going to instruct a kid how to potty train a dog shouldn't they learn to take it outside?

  21. You write great tag lines. Mattel should hire you in their marketing department.
