Fairy Names

So my two girls, ages 11 and 8, are all into this new online Disney game "Pixie Hollow"...about Fairies.

And I'm cracking up as I hear them talk about the fairy names that the game assigns to the players.

"Quicksilver Mangolashes".

"Nutmeg Bubblefeather".

"Cupcake Frostyboots".

I don't know why I find this so hilarious. It either reminds me of Native American stripper names or vagrants under the I-95 overpass.

Also? You "pay" for things with snowflakes or blueberries.

And if you're displeased with another player you have to use the default epithet: "Jingles to you!"

Naturally, I made up my own fairy name, "Margarita FoxMuffin", and my husband is now "AbRoller CrankyPants".

Husband: Could you stop now? It's really not that funny.

Me: It is SO funny. And you owe me 3 snowflakes.

Husband: I'm going to the gym.

Me: Jingles to you.

  1. I think you should talk to the Kinkos people in Fairy language next time you, I mean your girls, assign a project for you to do.

Kinkos Guy: Ma'am we can't get Edwards head any larger.

HHS: (Sticks out tongue) Jingles to you!

  13. So I bought that Tinkerbell movie (set in Pixie Holow) for my 2 and 1/2 year old. She barely glanced at the screen but my 11 and 1/2 year old son was GLUED to the TV... Weird? No he is not gay. I can tell.

  14. DUDE!! We are so Pixie Hollow over here and my girls are 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 !! They are insane over it especially the 4 year old. Though she's a fairy herself so it all makes sense.

The names kill me but nothing kills me more than me having to read every single option to the 4 year old as she tries to decide which one she wants. It's too much and makes me insane. her current fave? Rose Prettywish - so if your kids' fairies see Rose Prettywish flitting around - please say jingles!!

  15. I imagine that is better than having the 8 year old youtubing farts all day.

  16. Oh I love it. I'm going to be thinking of saying 'jingles to you' for days now and it might just slip out without me realising..

  17. I think I might need to play that. It sounds so fun!

  18. I'm with Georgie - my kiddo hasn't discovered this yet (probably because Mommy's always too busy blogging to share the computer.....)

She does *big, red, puffy heart* the Tinkerbell/Fairies DVD though... Might have to let her have a turn at the computer for that one!

  19. Ooooo, I got one, I got one, can I be Martini BentFeathers. After all, you drink a martini and your fairy wing feathers will start bending. Corny right??????

  21. It totally sucks that your children did not completely zap every ounce of funny from you like mine did! Then I would only be jealous of you for your good looks. Now I have to be jealous of your humor too! Damn you are funny! How do you come up with this stuff?! HI.LAR.I.OUS!! Due to my current gastrointestinal issues I will now deem myself Windy TwinkleToot! And a big bag of Stinky Jingles to anyone who asks what that smell is!

    Jiggety FuzzyBooty!

  26. Came over from GNO....

We don't do Fairies in our house with 3 boys, it all dragons, warriors and superheros. Not sure which is more annoying. I often wonder how many drinks are required to get the creative juices going for the geniuses that make this stuff up.

I think I need a refill! Make that a double....

  27. I'm seriously such a dork, I really had to go check this game out. I'll probably become addicted to it, because I'm all about crazy kids games, like PowerPets and such.

If I do ... I'm just telling everyone you got me addicted like a meth-head!!!

  28. would you think less of me if i made my son make a fairy just because i wanted to?? i forgot our name...but i remember going thru them and laughing too...although i never actually went to the fairlyland...lol

  29. This is hilarious, you totally need to invent some sort of trick so that people can figure out what their fairy name would be, like how to figure out your stripper name, it's like you remember a name of your 1st pet and the street you live on.

  30. I want to be Chardonnay TwinkleToes! (Although the latter is directly affected by how much I've had of the previous)

    Happy Virtual GNO! :->

  31. Bwahahahah!
That's good stuff. Did he turn around and give you a fairy finger? Just wondering.
    LOL

  32. Can I be Chocolate Chip Cookie Crumbs?

  33. My three year old is totally infatuated with pixie hollow. We've watched the movie about 462 times thus far. It could be worse...somehow....right?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh, that is too darn funny! Although, I have no idea what my name would be. I'll be thinking one up though!

And yes, I think I may take a look at the game... it might be just what I need to get over my addiction to Facebook! :o)

I think having kids sucked all the funny creative juices right out of me, as well as my will to live... if only sometimes. :)

  35. ah, he's no fun. This is hilarious! Also, very practical. I would totally be able to afford BlogHer if I could pay in snowflakes or blueberries.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My little one came up with 'Bubble Doofizzle' for her fairy name.

She's my kid all the way!

  37. My six year-old loves that game. She has a fairy named Holly Daydrop. I hit "random" for a name, and I got Prudence Parsleyshadow. I agree, that is random. I think you should be able to make up your own name. I would be Daquiri Momjeans.

  38. My kids play that too, cracks me up!
